At the «Le Brustolade», site near the old Roman town of Altino (near Venice), the Department of Archaeology of the Veneto Region discovered and excavated a burial place of horses of Paleovenitian age, twenty seven of them having been recovered.
Excavations cover an area of about 200 square meters. Four horses have kept their morsel or other garnements, but on the whole the implements are scarce. The skeletons of the animals are sometimes dislocated by later human burials or by other excavations and some of them have been damaged. […]
